Going Green - Country Style Home Decor

There's a particular shade of green that I absolutely adore at the moment, not quite olive, but a pale kind of dusky shade that I think is just gorgeous. Before I get too swept up in Autumn colours (they are coming out in every garden, tree and hedgerow around here) I thought I'd do a post inspired by the shade of cool, crisp green that I am inspired by.

I don't especially love doing the laundry - but this room could make it a whole lot more bearable!

This nursery photo was taken in New York and it looks very 'New York' to me.

I think this clock is just adorable - I adore the little details like these country home accessories!

A more modern take - I love the wrought iron wall decoration.

I liked the turqouise elements against the green in this image.

To me the kitchen in the heart of every home, especially when it has loads of space like this and a big ole Aga - to me this is the epitome of country style home decor. (I'm a little obsessive about the fact I have one - they are just heaven and truly 'a way of life'!)

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend xx

I love the green pics Melissa. Reminds me of 'Cooking Apple green' paint by Porter's Paints, such a beautiful shade! May I say how very, very envious I am that you have an Aga! That was my only wishlist item when we moved to the country...unfortunately, I had to settle for a double oven range cooker...but I still dream of owning an Aga...one day:) Enjoy ~ Tina

I always wanted an Aga... An Aga cooked breakfast full English is the best... it's never going to happen in this house though... it would take up half the kitchen... that and the fact that I could never afford one in the States... I'll just have to do with looking at pictures of them... Have a great Sunday... Do you make a Sunday dinner? I miss that too... I still make one, but it's not the norm around here. Lx

Hi Melissa,
such lovely pics. But its a shame that youre heading for winter!! My husband told me a couple of weeks ago that he wanted one of those oven things! Ovens just dont do anything for me; If i was on my own, I would just make do with a microwave and a toaster!!!lol He is the chef in the house; i think he sees himself as a bit of a jamie oliver!!! Just going to check out your other blog; how did i miss that?!!! Oh, thankyou too for your email, you really shouldnt have felt bad for taking time; you have so much going on all the time; please dont worry! Lots of love and hugs to you,
Laura xxxx

What gorgeous photos.I especially love the plain but yummy dining room.

Have you checked out Farrow and Ball's Ball Green? I think it'd be just up your street colour-wise.
