A Right Royal Knees Up!

I have to admit when a friend of mine (in their twenties) actually used the expression 'knees up' just recently I had a bit of a giggle. This very English expression simply refers to a great party and since today's the big day for Will and Kate, I basically couldn't let the ocassion pass without mentioning the royal wedding.

I'll be visiting my sister, Letitia from The White Shed - and I'll finally get to see the 'shed' in real life. Unlike a lot of people out there who are nice enough to read both her blog and mine and who've been to her country homewares shop, this will be my first visit. Living the other side of the world means I haven't actually been there yet!

While the wedding takes place, my mum, sis and I are going to have our own 'knees up', celebrating being together, watching the wedding, drinking some bubbly and enjoying the occassion.

What are you plans for the wedding? Will you be watching?

Have a great day! xx

My little girl who's 8 and I are planning on doing some decorating of the living room with some bunting, we'll sit on our Union Jack cushions and watch it on the TV. Not quite a knees up in the way of partying, but a literal knees up and cuddle up on the sofa! I have promised her that she can stay up until Kate gets to the Abbey which will be 8pm here. (Haven't quite worked out how to get her into bed and still carry on watching it myself though!)
Have fun with your family.

Oooh Melissa. It is so exciting isn't it?! Unfortunately I share my home with 3 boys (2 little, 1 grown-up) so they don't really "get-it". I shall have to have a little "knees-up" on my own :) Enjoy the big event with your Mum and sister :)

I had the best time, Melissa. Did you have a lovely day? The atmosphere was awesome and the wedding was just so moving. I think it was partly it all being rather romantic, and partly the feeling of so many people coming together happily. A gorgeous day!
