Something pretty

Hello everyone, hope you're having a lovely week!

It's a bit rainy and dreary here, but I have been cheering myself up with some lovely images via Pinterest.

Sparkly whites and a bit of purple and pink - bliss!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone has had a great Christmas and New Year. I've been spending this time relaxing and taking some time out to reflect on the last year and consider what I would like to do over the coming year.

I've come up with a lot of thoughts and a few resolutions - but one of the most important goals that I can think of is to live joyfully. For me, this one small thing represents creating a better balance in my life (one of the things at the top of my list for this year!)

Other resolutions for this year (in no particular order):
* Be braver in my choices to grow my business
* Get more to grips with my dietary needs (Since last year I have to follow a gluten free diet for health reasons)
* Work on improving my fitness
* Be more disciplined about keeping my free time to myself and not letting other things creep in

None of these resolutions are major life changes, but I figure a few small tweaks won't go astray! :)

Have you made any resolutions (big or small) this new year?

Have a great week!

Plumo Love-o!

I just recently came across the gorgeous Plumo website, filled with loads of lovely items. This online site has everything from fashion to homewares to vintage items. The products come from across the globe and the underlying ethos is fair trade and fair pay for the maker.

Here are some of my favourites:

A Little More Cabbages & Roses

I think it's no secret how much I love Cabbages and Roses, so I had to share this gorgeous video of their Autumn/Winter 11 collection. I love the music, the light, the clothes...

Don't you just love it!?

Have a wonderful Friday!

Looks to love for Autumn!

I'm totally loving all the vintage inspired looks for this season, so I just have to share some of my favourites with you!

Riding boots, floaty florals and baker boy hats at Ralph Lauren

Burnt orange, sheer fabric scarves and beads at Noa Noa

Dark silks from the Noa Noa autumn 11 collection

More florals and lots of beads from Ralph Lauren

Open work crochet scarves and lots of warm woolly layers - Noa Noa Autumn 11 collection

My budget doesn't stretch to Ralph Lauren designer wear, but one of the things I love about this look is that the vintage inspired look leaves so much scope for buying, well, vintage. And since I love nothing more than rootling around to find fabulous vintage clothes that I can wear with a modern twist, I'm already working on my list of style s and fabrics to look out for!

Have you found any looks that you're inspired by with the change of season?

Have a lovely weekend!

Linen Smocking - My Latest Linen Obsession

Now, I think that my linen obsession is nothing new, but I've added smocked linen to that obsession. I'd love to know how to do smocking, but unfortunately I have more than enough on my plate for the time being!

Since I don't have the time to learn this skill, I'm going to have to be satisfied with some vintage smocked linens I bought on eBay and these gorgeous images of crisp white linen!

I hope you're having a great week!

It's a Blogover!

I can't believe that I haven't posted in so long - because it feels like I have been working on my blog in every spare second I've had this week - and doesn't it look fresh after it's Blogover!

I have to give a big thankyou to the good people who let me use their photos for my new header (L-R), Pilar Castro, Mabley Handler Interiors and Yozo Crafts.

I love the term Blogover - because it feels like I really have given my blog a complete makeover. I did all the work on this myself, preparing the new background, designing the new header, creating new pages and setting the blog up on it's very own domain. (Oh, and there's a button on the side if you want to grab one!) So now I simply must tell you what it is all about!

At the beginning of January I mentioned that I had some new projects coming up and most of them centre around why I've given the blog a facelift. If you've already had a nosy around you've probably picked up on the fact that I'm opening an online store.

However, that's not all that I'm doing. I'm very shortly going to be doing something I've wanted to do for ages - and that's sell clothes that I will be designing - in that store.

I know I've set myself a mammoth task doing this - so I'm also going to include accessories, handmade items and homewares from other people to complement what I'm going to do. I'm looking for things that are unique, vintage inspired and have a bit of modern country style - all the things that I love and a style that I know many of my bloggy friends share my enthusiasm for.

I'm really excited about this and I will be uploading things to the online store over the coming days and weeks - and of course I will let you know what's happening as things evolve and progress!

I hope you're having a great start to the week! xx

Moody Blues - Fashion Trends & Home Decor Ideas

I probably couldn't ever commit to choosing just one colour as a favourite, but I guess blue always sits in my top 3 - it is such a versatile colour, blue could be anything from turquoise to navy to sapphire.

One of my favourites is a shade of blue is a mid-blue with a touch of grey. I have seen so many beautiful home decor ideas and fashion trends incorporating these shades lately - I decided to share some of my favourites here today.

All Wrapped Up

I have hardly had two seconds to stop and think this week, but that seems to be the normal situation for me. My most exciting news is that I have an invite to an opening day event at London Fashion Week - so I have to admit my head is a little in the clouds about that - which really means I've spent the week trying to stop myself day dreaming about what to wear!

I'm still completely undecided, but I'm leaning toward a wrap style dress. Thank goodness for such a simple way to cover up the folly of my ways (ie - over doing it during the holidays).
Here are some of the contenders (and some that I can just day dream about!)

And of course there's this very famous blue ISSA wrap dress - and let's face it - deep down every girl wants to feel like a princess!

Pale Pink - Spring Fashion Trends

I'm a little bit drawn to super girly stuff this week, so I decided today to share some very girly pastel pink images I've found over the last few days. I think with spring just around the corner and all the latest spring fashion trends appearing online and in stores - the flowery fashion trends and pastel colours are truly capturing my imagination.
