A Right Royal Knees Up!

I have to admit when a friend of mine (in their twenties) actually used the expression 'knees up' just recently I had a bit of a giggle. This very English expression simply refers to a great party and since today's the big day for Will and Kate, I basically couldn't let the ocassion pass without mentioning the royal wedding.

I'll be visiting my sister, Letitia from The White Shed - and I'll finally get to see the 'shed' in real life. Unlike a lot of people out there who are nice enough to read both her blog and mine and who've been to her country homewares shop, this will be my first visit. Living the other side of the world means I haven't actually been there yet!

While the wedding takes place, my mum, sis and I are going to have our own 'knees up', celebrating being together, watching the wedding, drinking some bubbly and enjoying the occassion.

What are you plans for the wedding? Will you be watching?

Have a great day! xx

Candy Colours and Pastel Home Decorations

Happy (belated) Easter! I'm just starting to feel normal after travelling for 25 hours from London to Adelaide and have been busy catching up with my family and boy is it nice to see everyone after such a long time away!
I got a big surprise when my sister and her family arrived in Adelaide on Friday (a day earlier than expected) to come and visit me at my parents place. Easter with my nephews was so much fun and it was just so nice to see them after 2 years away.

Today's post is insipired by something I just loved when I was little - candy easter eggs. These rare treats were all the more special for being something unique and unusual. I think the home decoration in these pictures with the pastel candy colours reminds me of candy eggs and long ago easters. I think there are some lovely candy colour shades, which are a great basis for a range of home decor ideas. In particular, I love the pastel greens, blues and pinks; I always seem to be drawn to these colours more than any others, in particular pastel blues and greens.

Just had to include this last one because it pretty much sums up how I feel after a weekend of feasting!

Loveliness from Australia and heading home from the UK to Oz!

A couple of weeks back I was super excited to learn that I had actually won something from a blog giveaway! (I never win anything!) And just a few days ago this gorgeous package arrived in the post from the lovely Rebecca at Life in the Country Lane.

I can't tell you how excited to finally be able to prove to all my English friends that yes, Lifesavers (the lollies/sweets) are real and not a figment of my imagination!

I decided to squeeze this quick post in before I leave in a couple of hours for London and then head on to Australia. I'm super excited to be visiting my family and catching up with friends during this month back in Oz, but I will also miss the amazing people who are part of my life here in England while I'm away.

I plan to continue this theme a little further once I get to Australia, but here's a super brief look at what I'm leaving in the UK and what awaits in Australia....

UK - Unseasonably warm British weather in April saw English sun seekers flock to Brighton Beach on the south coast - fully clothed! Brighton Beach, England {via Daily Mail}

Australia - an almost deserted Bondi Beach in April as the chillier weather sets in {source}

I think the lone person swimming is going to be me, I've been keeping an eye on the forecast and that 'unusually warm' English weather is actually cooler than the weather in Adelaide!

Have a lovely week! xx

Hello Yellow - Home Decor & Fashion

Hello lovely bloggy people. :) I've just returned from a week in London, which was a lovely, much needed break and I'm now packing ready to head to Australia to visit my family next week.

I feel like I haven't been blogging very regularly laterly and I thought I'd just let you know that I haven't forgotten about blogging - but it seems like the last few weeks and probably the last few months, I'm just so pressed for time. Unfortunately, that is not likely to change over the next little while, but I will keep trying to post as often as I can and I will have a special giveaway coming up as well.

In the meantime, with spring well and truly in the air here in the UK and with daffodils out everywhere - I thought I'd do a daffodil yellow inspired post today.

Have a great weekend xx
